Il Ventisettesimo Miglio is a sparkling wine produced with Chardonnay grapes using the long, Charmat-Martinotti method, which allows for the formation of small and persistent bubbles. This wine stands out for its fine perlage and aromatic freshness, making it particularly pleasant for an aperitif. It is ideal to pair with fish dishes, such as rainbow trout or sea bass, thereby enhancing the delicate flavors of traditional cuisine.
The vineyards from which the VENTISETTESIMO MIGLIO is obtained, extend along the ancient Roman Via Julia Augusta. The road was travelled before the Romans settled there, at the time of the establishment of Aquileia, but what the Romans most certainly did, with their mastery as road builders, was the excavation to regulate the slope between the ancient Torre riverbed and the pre-morainic terrace of the countryside, facing the vineyards, that is, at the height of the twenty-seventh mile: a stretch of the ancient road where the stone walls are still visible and contain the lateral embankements, along the vineyards above.
Today, the VENTISETTESIMO MIGLIO is not just a wine, but a symbol of a heritage that recounts stories of people, traditions and a love for the land that endures over time.
