LUNATIC
Verduzzo Friulano is another of the autochonous grapes; its characteristic is to have a significant tannin content and to achieve high sugar content. In fact the resulting wine is semi-sweet or sweet, but with its characteristics it can accompany both desserts and cheeses, or it can be enjoyed simply as an appetizer. Being generous plants, the vines of Verduzzo endure both the selection of best buds and a thinning during the first days of August. It is important that the grape is fully ripe to obtain a good wine, for this reason a defoliation is also performed. The grapes are harvested in boxes that are then stacked in a fruttaio (dry storage area). The drying usually lasts until Christmas, so as to obtain an end product with fresh and tannic characteristics but also with the aromatic and sweet characteristics of a passito wine.
